Application

MyGeoDiary

Abaqus MyGeoDiary is a service which enables users to easily Record, Annotate, Organize and Share their personal geo-data on the Next Generation Web.

The Next Generation Web, also referred to as the GeoSpatial Web, will closely integrate the 'physical world' with the 'online web' based on the easy availability of the underlying 'geographic' data. This aspect of the Next generation web has started to impact everything from consumer devices, network infrastructure to end-user applications. Abaqus aims to provide the users with an easy-to-use MyGeoDiary service to manage their lives on this GeoSpatial web.

We all want to be able retrieve our tracks in the physical world, visualize them, & reference them for future use; or reuse the geospatial data in new applications.  If you're like us, you might be trying to geo-tag your pictures, point-of-interest map data, fitness data, travel logs etc. OR maybe you just want to share your geotrack, pass it around to use it in another web application.

Wouldn't it be fun, if you could further add to your geotracks and organize them? Our service lets you Annotate your GeoDiary with additional information in the form of HTML, pictures, audio and video. You can then Share your geotracks with your community of friends or the web-at-large with complete control over your privacy using a wide variety of web2.0 tools e.g. embedding a map on your blog or website, a widget on your social network, sharing through simple URLs to Google Maps and through our GeoFeed mechanism.

B2B Web Services Platform

GeoWeb Services

Our hosted GeoWeb Services Platform is aimed at enabling business partners to geo-enable their own web sites or rapidly launch geo-centric community applications. We manage the data, the application, the service APIs and the infrastructure and your customers get all the benefits of geo-data in the context of your application or service. Examples of online sites who should consider geo-enabling their service include photo sites, outdoor community sites, travel sites or general social networking sites etc.
Tools

Uploader for PC, Smartphone

Recording and saving your geo data is hard. Geo data comes in many formats and is hard to mix and match. The MyGeoDiary Service makes it easy to upload geolocation data regardless of the source. We currently support many of the major device file formats and open GPS enabled cell phones & personal navigation devices. More device support is on its way, so watch our blog. Data that you've uploaded can be viewed online or retrieved again though our publishing capabilities. So it's always there for you.

SmartPhone GeoRecorder

The GeoRecorder has been designed to be as easy to use as possible. Within 2 easy steps you can start recording a geo-track:
  • 1. Launch the GeoRecorder app
  • 2. Press the start button to start the recording.
Moreover, you can configure the application to use a delay that should be between every recorded point of your geo-track.   The software also lets your take pictures and automatically annotate your tracks with them. Currently our GeoRecorder SW is available for Blackberry Phones (with internal GPS or Bluetooth GPS).    We also work with partners who provide similar software for Windows Mobile Platform and other Smart phones.   Stay tuned to our blog for the latest information.

Uploader

Our Uploader product is a Windows based application that enables seamless upload of geo-tracks created using various positioning devices. The uploader will automatically detect a new file in your 'upload' directory, translate it and send it to your GeoDiary account. The benefits of the Uploader are that it manages complex file types like GPX and TCX that may contain may geo-track, and converts them for you into multiple track uploads to the server. You can download the uploader here. Check out our product support matrix to see what devices we currently support and how. If you've got a device or format we don't support yet or are unsure how to proceed, visit our user forum.

The Uploader has a bright future planned for it too, such as supporting the Mac and bringing cool features such as photo management, fitness metrics etc.  We are looking to enable some of these featuers with 3rd party business partners.  Stay tuned to our blog for more information !
